I just looked at this humanity family tree and suddenly felt very small. All of recorded history is about two pixels wide on that chart. And what’s up with homo erectus? We can only dream about being around for that long.

And that chart is only 6 million years out of the 450 million years of complex life forms with hard parts. And the 450 is only a small part of the 3800 million years of cellular life on earth. “We” have been working too long on getting here for the singularity to be anywhere nearby.
