Prepared For The Worst?

Well, that’s one way to prepare for the coming oil apocalypse. I would highly recommend getting your FOID card however, before stocking up on weapons.

Also, if you are going to go all road warrior, you might want to pick something a little more wieldy than the 80 pound M2HB. When the world is out of gas, you have to carry your own guns.

Guns will run out of ammunition, though, and there is already a shortage of some ammo. People will run through their 9mm rounds quicker than they think in the days after the Oil Collapse.

Start training as a bowyer or a fletcher, my man. Get making crossbows! And remember to keep on Lord Hermongous’ good side.

See, that’s the real problem. There is the lag between when everyone runs out of ammo, and when only some people have. So you need a good stockpile, and some knowhow for the future. Fortunately I have already spent some time making my own bows and arrows. Synthesizing gunpowder and re-loading spent casings might be a better skill set to learn though. Collect the spent brass and keep reloading the old casings. Not to mention taking the guns and ammo of the people trying to take over your farm.

Homemade bow versus a Baretta 92F is not a position I want to be in. Unless they are out of ammo.

Or unless you strike from ambush.

Synthesizing gunpowder isn’t hard, but making bullets useful for modern weapons is-and a fair number of the ones you make will misfire or have other troubles.

Hmm…maybe the blackpowder rifle enthusiasts will rule in the coming era of Lord Hermongous. Until they have to break out with the powder horn, anyway.
