I liked the earlier shows better, when it was more of a spy show and he went around ravaging third-world countries. After Pete what’s-his-name came along, everything went downhill; the opening theme went from piano to synthesizer, Mac stopped wearing his leather jacket, and there was way too much hand-wringing and whale-hugging for my taste.

But damn, he was still hot. Wearing Wayne Gretzky’s hockey jersey: hot. The mullet: hot. Pete was like a goddamned cold shower after that.

Gay or not, he was great. If there had been a halfway attractive or charismatic male character on that show, it could have been slash heaven.

Glad you still enjoy it. Sorry to hear about the horrible wasting disease. Glad it meant that you got to watch MacGyver.
