And I Really Liked Her

You know… she always seemed like a reasonable person to me. And now she is having the FTC investigate how sex got into GRAND THEFT AUTO III!!!! Holy mother of jumping frog legs! It’s GTA!!! The game where you shoot old ladies for cash, machinegun crowds of people for fun, buy hookers to regain your health and then beat them up to get your money back. And she is concerned that there might be some explicit sex in the game???

Excuse me while I go rip my eyeballs out.

    yes! What you said.

In fact, this is practically word for word what I said to mort after seeing the story. Except for I was ranting about of the part where hiring a hooker and then running her over and stealing the money back was More appropriate than a hidden sex scene.

She’s getting ready to run for President, and goofy moralizing never hurts your chances of getting that job.

Yes. It is very, very depressing.

I hear people keep saying that she’s going to run for President. She would certainly get a lot of people fired up & ready to enter the political process. The trouble is that they would ALL BE REPUBLICANS. Not even the Dems can be that dumb, can they?

Hillary is probably the most recognizable candidate the Dems have, and consistently polls among the most popular.

The reaction many Republican activists have to her actually helps her with independent voters.

Her biggest liability is going to be her age and the public conenction of her with the “immorality” of her husband’s White House, although Republicans will have to be careful about that one, as she can play the “why are you blaming the victim!” card.

Her crusade against video games which aren’t suppsoed to be in the hands of kids anyway is an attempt to steal the small traction the Republicans can get out of the “morality” issue.

I actualy hope she wins, as we can then look forward to 8 years of gridlock where the dumb ideas of both parties will be less likely to make into reality.

She might even remember that she has the veto power.

On the other hand, it will be another trend in the whole “dynastic” element to US politics. Really, if she wasn’t Bill’s wife, would she be anywhere near the national figure she is? She’s certainly got the chops to be in the House, and maybe the Senate, but I can’t see her as beign a Presidential aspirant if she hadn’t been married to a previou President.

The “dyanstic” thing annoys me. Hillary isn’t the worst example-she appears to have some brains and talent of her own-but still, I don’t like our developing aristocracy.
