The Pics Have Arrived!
The pics are in! And I’m afraid that they don’t look nearly as scary as the should, but believe me, this is a sight to behold. A Wallstreet screen grafted onto the two generation later Pismo.

The amazing thing is that is works! Or rather, exhibits the same broken behavior that the old monitor exhibited. Unfortunately this means a new motherboard ($180), and we will have to see if that happens. The fact of the matter is that the sole purpose of fixing it would be to be able to watch TV while surfing, and that is a bit much for that little convenience. So in this next pic, you can see what is holding the screen up, mainly the old screen.

You can also see the fact that the CRT had to be taken out of the case so that the internals could be dissected and then reconnected to the main body of the pismo. Note the unused inverter board off to the side, in the Wallstreet this is in the monitor side, and in the Pismo it is on the keyboard side. And in the final shot you can see that the data connector is not the same shape as in the Pismo and keeps the keyboard from laying flat. Well that and the inverter board needing to be moved to fit the socket. But still, you get the idea.
