Cassini Rising

I don’t know how many of you remember the Galileo probe from Jupiter last decade. It made tons of great pictures, and shortly before it ended, we shot up another one that is going to Saturn. The pictures should be just as stupendous, and it is almost there. A seven year journey, and it is so close now that it can’t take a picture of all of Saturn at once any more. Can’t wait.

Oh yeah, and the European probe that they are dropping on Titan should be sweet. Not as exciting as Europa anymore, but it used to be the number one exciting place for Exo-biologists. 58 days til orbital insertion.

More Flag Stuff

So I read a LOT of Iraqi blogs. Probably more than I should. Many of them have the iraqi flag on their site (mostly Pre 91 because since they are on the computer, they are probably in a fairly secular part of the state, like Bagdhad, and don’t really care about pissing off some religious conservatives.) But one of them today decided to post the new flag on his site. He makes some interesting comments on why. Mainly about the need to accept change to move forward.

And that it fits with his color scheme better. He notes that his friend Ali’s version of the flag simply won’t do color wise with the site design. Mmm. Blue stripes.
